Ever wonder what’s inside a Native Instruments Maschine Controller?

Here at Illuminated Sounds we love things with 16 pads and we love to take things apart. Now personally I’m a fan of Akai MPC’s, but when one my friends got a Maschine I knew it was only a matter of time before I could get him to open it up.

the big pads remind me of the fat pads for the mpc2000xl

    …. so i somehow managed to jam the prong inside the hardware’s USB connector. Wont power up properly anymore. What do you guys suggest? I’m afraid to send it in… reading lots of horror stories. If the USB something easily replaceable?

    thx

    @dj Premo 459
    I like fixing my own gear, so if you have the soldering skills have at it. Otherwise probably the best thing to do is send it in.

    Are the led’s inside of the pads or are they mounted on the circuit board?

    Hey man, my left screen is constantly going blank, and when i press down on the nob right under it it will come back, but if i let it go, the screen goes back to blank, what do you think might be the problem, and you think it;ll be fixable by myself, as i did get the maschine second-hand.

    What type of solder do you need to swap the potentiometers? Anyone has done this if so please share in detail any tips or tricks.
    Thank you
