Casio CA100 Sound Library 2

July 20th, 2010

I went back in and spent a good long time glitching my Casio CA100 again to provide you guys with another glitch library. I am very pleased with the variety of sounds from this machine. I recorded them in pro-tools at 24b 44100khz as mono wav files. there is 106 samples, as of now it is my largest circuit bent library.

Polyphonic Random Intervals

March 7th, 2010

This is a program I created that allows you to add some randomization to what you play. It waits for a MIDI message in, then alters that note up a perfect 3rd, a perfect 5th, a perfect 7th, or an octave, also it is velocity sensitive and is polyphonic! I wanted to add more controls but as they say “keep it simple, stupid!” I planed on adding the other intervals but wanted to share what I have with the world! Shoot me an e-mail with any suggestions, and I will be more than happy to add them to the program. Watch for updates and new versions.

Updates coming soon!
- More Intervals: minor 2nd, major 2nd…. diminished… (As of now, it supports perfect intervals.)
- Color coordination for diminished/augmented/major/minor/perfect inversions
- Negative inversions: octave down…. perfect 5th down… etc. (Currently, it adds value to the note you are playing.)

PRI nanoKey edition allows you to turn on/off the three middle controls with the pitch down, pitch up and mod buttons on your nanoKEY controller
keys

Listen to “C,D#,G#” a quick song I made with the PRI pressing only three notes C, D# and G# making the Cm chord. I recorded some loops in Abelton and threw on a beat. I had the “octave” and “5th” settings activated during this song, there are 4 different MIDI loops. Enjoy

8 band graphic EQ for the Launchpad

February 17th, 2010

I thought it would be cool to have a graphic eq display on the launchpad so I built this 8 band graphic EQ. As of now, it has these controls:

1. Adjustable peak filters on each band
2. Individual band volume controls for those unruly frequencies

(forgive the cheap webcam framerate, it actually preforms better then this video can reproduce)

This is version 1.0. I will continue to update and add more features. I hope you enjoy 8bandGraphicEQ for the Launchpad.

The Octavizer

February 11th, 2010

Check out The Octavizer for the launchpad. Using the row of circular buttons across the top, The Octavizer lets you change the octaves of the rows of square buttons. All the chromatic note mapping stays the same it just changes octaves so it is compatible with Chords2.0. Enjoy

Link of the Month Max/MSP/PD Chiptune externals

Max/MSP/PD Chiptune externals
atari
Here is a really cool repository of some chiptune patches. I was happy to find these because I have always enjoyed chip tune sounds. I have made a touch screen/MIDI interface for the atari2600 external and I will probably make some more. I just wanted to make a multi touch MIDI interface, but after playing with the externals from this link I just had to integrate one into my design. You can download Phew for windows right now. If you guys like it I will make something eles with the NES patcher.

James’ Circuit Bent Library 2

January 26th, 2010

Hello again!
I’ve got some more samples and downloads.
pic

I got this toy for Christmas to mod from a fellow musician/producer Jarad an accompanying artist in Dub Amor.

I really enjoy this toy. I found a lot of mods for it. I decided to reuse some of the existing buttons on the device, so as it stands I have 10 different mods on it that fall in to 4 categories.

1. Augmentation glitch: causes a glitching of the phrasing while held on. Makes words incomprehensible or sound more interesting.

2. Catalyst: An action that causes a spontaneous, sometimes random noise occurrence.

3. Tone bend: increasing or decreasing voltage somewhere on the toy creates a pitching up and down in the speed of the sound being produced.

4. Word length modifier: differs from a tone bend because modifies the length of her syllables so that they loop or stretch out. instead of slowing down the entire waveform

By popular request I have included some more Musini samples! Enjoy

Roland TR-626 Sound Library

January 25th, 2010

626
Recently I picked up a used Roland TR-626 from ebay. I finally got around to sampling beeps and buzzes that this guy makes. Here is a sound library of all the sounds this drum machine makes. Each sounds has 15 different pitch levels that I label -7 to +7, 0 being the original sample. All the samples were recorded into Pro Tools at 44.1/16 bit. Also I circuit bend the hell out of this thing, so expect future posts with pictures and samples of it glitched out.
